Sorrow in the air

It is already 26th of August today and my depature date is set on 30th morning, which happens to way before dawn. With this in mind, it causes me to think back of the days I have had during this summer holidays.
My return to Malaysia this year has a been a very different one from the previous few. One of the most evident change was I was a lot bussier than those time I had during the previous summer holidays. One of the reason is because I had a few outings with my parents which is something I have not done in my previous visits back to my home country.
The other thing is this year I had a few more friends to visit this year, and I am happy that I was able to meet up with some of my very old friends which I haven't seen for a long long time. Though, of course it was fun meeting new people as well.
With this, I would say that my time spent during summer was one that was well filled with joy and laughter. Though like all joyfull times, it still has to come to an end, and at the end of a dream we will still need to wake up and get ourselves back into reality.
Tonight, the moon seems to be sharing my sorrow and shines a bright red color instead of its usually bright yellowish white color.
All I would like to say is THANK YOU mum and dad who allowed me to have such a nice holidays and to all my friends and family who made this trip back to my native home land a better one!

How I spend the day I was born

Like the previous year, I was fortunate enought to be able to spend my birthday with my parents and secondary friends in Malaysia. This year I had quiet an extraordinary birthday.
On August 10th, as I am still a teenager and would not sleep till past 12 midnight, I spend the last few minutes of the day surfing the net and playing around Facebook. By that time, some of the birthday wishes had already started to flow into my Facebook account wall. Realizing that I was relatively tired, I decided to reply those few birthday messages that I had before going to bed.
The next morning, I woke up at 5.30am since I promised my father that I would accompany him for a morning cycle around our area. After the cycle, we returned to the house and my father knowing me said: go back up and have a nap.
I did go upstairs to my room but what I didn't do was to have a nap, I spend the next few hours reading a storybook and later my mum came into my room and told me it was time for breakfast.
Having eaten my breakfast, I returned to my room to continue with the book and eventually felt asleep after my physiological hypoglycemia kicked in. My mother then woke me up to change and get ready to have lunch with my grandmother.
After half an hour drive all the way down to Shah Alam to pick my grandmother up, we had lunch with my aunt,a friend of both my mother and my aunt and last but not least my grandmother. We had fishhead noodles which was a little different from the norm but I would not want to dwell on that.
Then, my mother who remembered that having a massage by a masseur is one of my wishes, she decided to bring me to a reflexology center and there was where I enjoyed one and a half hour of full body massage for the first time of my life.
Upon returning home after that, since my pre-discussed dinner to meet up with a friend of mine who just reached KL from east Malaysia to visit some friends was postponed, I had nothing to do that night. My parents decided to bring me out for dinner and since I requested to have seafood for dinner, my parents brought me to a restaurant near to Kuala Selangor.
After enjoying a fullfilling dinner, we decided that it was time to head home as my parents are used to having to sleep early. And with that, my birthday has come to an end.

These few days, I realized that my holidays are nearing the end on a very fast pace.
Knowing this, my heart seems to have acquire a heavy burden that I have to leave those whom I love and cherish only to return the next year with the webcam being the only way we can see each other. I am really going to miss all of my friends and my family.
Coming back this time, I had a fairly different holiday as I had a very busy schedule which consist of going down to Singapore and up to Kapas Island, meeting up with more friends this year, and I was especially happy to be able to have an outing with my best friend where we spent almost 2 hours just talking. That talk really relieved me of a lot of matters.
I really hope that friendships can really last like those I see some of my friend have or those that we see in the movies.

Trip to Pulau Kapas

Continuing from the birthday dinner in the hotel, we returned back home at around 10.30pm and we decided instead of sleeping for 2-3 hours and then waking up to drive down to Terrenganu to the jeti, why not just drive all the way there earlier and we can have a slow drive.
So, upon reaching home, we packed up the remaining items and loaded everything into the car before leaving for the jeti. I was going to drive first and my father to sleep and rest so he could take over when I was tired. That was the plan.
I drove all the way till pass Kuantan and reached to a spot at around 3.30am, which I told my father I would want to swap places with him and take the co driver seat and have a nap. My father being in a natural alpha male of the pack throughout my drive to Terrenganu didn't sleep much as he was afraid of how I might fare in my driving technique as it was midnight and it was very dark in the highways.
In the end, he didn't sleep much and toke over when I asked him to. Next, all I remembered was some chatter between my mum and father while I was falling asleep and the next thing I knew was we have reached a small town to stop for a break. It was around 4 plus early in the morning and we snaped some photos before leaving for the jeti. We reached the jeti around 6 plus but decided to go to a nearby town for breakfast.
We got back to the jeti and set sailed on a boat to Kapas Island at around 11am. Upon arrival, we checked into the resort which was relatively empty as it was not a holiday period and neither was it a weekend (we reach on Sunday afternoon).
After settling down in our room, we went out to the reception area to have our lunched then lazed around the beach till 3 for our first snorkeling session.
It rained heavily that night and we slept like babies in our room after being exhausted from the drive from our house and the snorkelling session.
Next day, after having breakfast, I was to attend my discovery scuba diving session in which I was exposed to the basic techniques of scuba diving and had a chance to dive down to a depth of 10-12m.
The experience was quite nice except for the corals were pretty much dead which made the underwater scenery a little dull and boring while the irration that my ear gave me due to the pressure difference left me feeling relief when I resurfaced and climbed back on the boat.
That afternoon, we had our second snorkeling session and before dinner we had a walked around the beach till the furthest point.
Next morning, after breakfast we strolled the beach again before retreating to the room to get ready for check out.
Upon reaching back on the mainland, we went to the nearby town to have our second breakfast and to do some shopping for groceries as this place was famous for its seafood.
We reached back home around 7 plus on the 3rd of August. I had a really nice time in the beach and thanks to my parents, my dream of visiting the beach this time when I am back in Malaysia came true !

Unexpected Birthday Bash

On July 31st 2010 which was a Saturday, my parents invited some relatives to have dinner with me and my family in a restaurant in the ex-Subang Sheraton Hotel which has now acquired a new name of which I do not remember.
Anyway, the story goes like this. I was told that my father had a voucher that enabled us to invite quite a number of guest to the hotel for a dinner and he had to use it soon as the expiring date was closing in. After much discussion of whom should we invite(since both sides of my parents have quite a large family) we finally settled on a date and number of people to invite.
I was around when some of the relatives called to ask my mum what was the occasion of the dinner. She said casually as a reunion for me and them since we haven't meet up for about a year. At that point of time, I believed what she said and since she even denied that it was for my birthday which was still about 10 days away, I totally discarded the idea that the dinner was in fact a birthday surprise for me.
At that night, upon reaching the hotel, I went down to the restaurant and waited for others to turn up. I was also surprised that my father's partner was also having dinner together with her own relatives. I was glad to see some faces which I have not glanced upon for a long long time.
During the dinner, my father being who he always is - a gracious host, went around chatting with all the guest to ensure they were enjoying themselves and talking to the managers in charge whom he had known from earlier meetings.
He introduced me to the manager in charge for the restaurant-cafe which we were dining in and told me she was the one who arranged dinner for us. I thanked her with no knowledge of what she was going to do.
After eating quite a bit, I came to a conclusion that my parents were indeed throwing me a surprise birthday bash and me being me, walked around the reception counter to see if there were any cakes with my name on it.
This was because last year I had a birthday celebration in another hotel restaurant and the only difference was that last year I knew it was a birthday dinner. When I saw a cake on one of the kitchen counter, I was shocked and walked over to see if it was mine. When I saw that it belonged to some other family who were eating their dinner here, I felt my mind at ease and thought that maybe this is not a surprise birthday dinner but just an ordinary dinner.
Though, I was wrong. In the middle of my chat with my younger cousins, the whole serving crew of the restaurant made their way to me with a cake and was singing the brithday song aloud.
Man, was I not embarrassed. The most important factor of me being embarresed was because most of the people in the dinner were my elders and only a few were younger than me and they were all singing the brithday song to me. I think I went red when they were singing the song.
Anyway, I had a lot of fun meeting up with my relatives and friends and the dinner was not too bad either. All I want to say is Thanks to my parents for organizing such a wonderful birthday surprise for me !!

Back to School to Visit friends and teacher

On one fine Tuesday afternoon, I asked one of my friedns to accompany me back to my secondary school to visit our friends from Choir to see how they are doing and some of the teachers.
Upon arrival, I couldn't contact the teacher who normally brings me into the school in order to avoid needing to fill up forms and hence I waited in my(father's) car in order to wait for him to return my calls. And it was 1 in the afternoon with the sun way up the sky, heating me and the car up to a temperature I couldn't stand even with the air-cond on (maybe it is because the car was old and it was stationary)
After sometime we went in and the teacher which I was still in contact with brought me out for a drink somewhere nearby.
While we were drinking, I meet my choir master and the teacher in charge and said hello to them. They told me something about not going into the music room until they have reached but I didn't understand them at that time.
After enjoying the refreshing drink with my teacher, we went back to the school and I went to see my friends in the music room.
After going into the room, I realized they were starting to warm up their voices and I found a new and unfamiliar face in the midst of students(she was the new teacher in charge) She came forward and asked me who am I and why was I here. After explaining briefly I walked away when she looked like she had nothing else to say.
Not long after that, while I was resting on the chair and talking to the remaining friends in the choir that I still knew, someone came forward and told me the teacher asked me to kindly leave the room.
I obeyed and went downstairs and looked for the male team who were having their run around the school. Then when the instructor came I went up to the room with her and sat in a corner in order not to disturb them.
Minutes later, one of the vice principal came bursting in madly screaming "Can the person who isn't a school student please come out!!"
Not knowing what was happening I cooly went out only to find myself in the middle of being scolded by the vice principles since the new teacher in charge was so fussy and made a complaint since I stayed in the room despite her asking me to go out at the 2nd time after I went in(which she didn't realise)
During the scold, I ignored them but felt sorry for the friends which I caused trouble, 3 of the highest ranking student in charge of the choir came out to back me up and even the instructor called the ex-teacher in charge to come to see what was happening and she ended up helping me which I also felt so sorry for causing her trouble as well.
Later I found out that this new teacher are finding a lot of trouble with ex-students coming back to school to visit our choir mates which is an old tradition of ours.
Oh well, that's life.

3 days in Singapore

I haven't been posting blogs since I came back to Malaysia. For one, this is because I am lazy to write and have much more activities than I have back in Russia. The other reason is because I dread the internet connection speed back here in Malaysia.
I came back on 16th of July and on the 18th I went down to Singapore on a coach.
The ride was pretty much fine and we arrived there quite on time except for the slight delay we meet in the custom department. Upon our arrival, my uncle which is now a Singaporean citizen picked me and my mother from the bus station to his house.
On the next day, me and my mum went shopping on Orchard Road, Ion plaza and several other shopping malls. I would say I prefer the Singaporean railway over Malaysian's as they are interconnected and can reach almost every part of their town.
On the 3rd day, my uncle bought me and my mum each a ticket to the Universal Studios in Singapore to enjoy ourselves there(as a reward of my good results which I think was very generous of him) We spent the whole day over there and had a lot of fun although the two major rides were still under maintainance and are not available for the public yet.
Next day me and my mum spend our time shopping again as our main objective coming down to Singapore was to shop while they were having their GSS (Grand Singapore Sale).
Next morning my uncle sent us to the bus station and we went back to Malaysia with our bags full of goodies from Singapore (all the photos can be found in my mother's album in her Facebook account)
