It has been quite sometime since I last posted a new blog here. Now that the exams are over and the time of relaxation and holidays has come, I hope I can keep you guys posted with all that are happening around here with my frequents updates in this blog post.
Firstly, the exams. How did I do ? So far, I have passed all the test with flying colors with the exception of the last paper that is still unknown as the results are still not out yet. Though I am confident that I should not have any problems passing it.
Today, we were gathered in the ambulance center by our teacher as we will be having our winter practice this time by helping out and being a part of the medical team of an ambulance unit. After a lengthy breifing of the do's and don'ts, we were dismissed(the teacher was a little disappointed since he didn't know so little people will turn up as some of the students which are from one semester older than I am will be having their last paper tomorrow, hence they didn't turn up. Another reason was that the dean office told us we have a week to rest before the practicals started.)
So after we left the center, we went to a nearby shopping mall to enjoy ourselves.
After walking about an hour or so,we finally felt a little growl from our stomach and decided to satisfy our mouths and stomach.
We ended up in a new restaurant (relatively new to us since we have not been into that shopping mall since last year i guess ??? )It had a nice concept to it, unlike most restaurants found in our town that either has the Russian feel (of course right ? Since where am I ??? Russia!!!!) or else Japanese feel.
This restaurant had a cottage feeling to it, more like a country side feel. Something not commonly found here. The food stuff were relatively cheap for what we get normally here.
We ordered for the bussiness lunch (what we call economy set lunch back in our home country). It consist of a bowl of soup with around 6-7 small meat balls. It wasn't that bad, the meat balls were relatively normal (taste like normal Russian flavoured soup and meat ball), though I would say the soup was good in the sense they didn't make it too salty. The only thing was it was a little too much in pepper sense.
The next dish was a full squid that was baked with cheese on top and fillings inside. This dish was one of the best I have ever tasted here. The squid was in excellent texture, neither too tough nor too mushy. It was at the same time very succulent, filled with juices, though it didn't taste too pungent of its natural seafood taste which some people dislike. The stuffing was also pretty decent.
To end this surprisingly nice meal, we had a tiramisu cake, for one of the cheapest price we ever got in a restaurant. All in all we only paid an amount 185 rubles for the meal (consisting of the soup, a whole squid and half a piece of cake)
While walking back from shopping, I received a call from my fellow groupmate stating that the dean did not want to sign our release paper so we can get our visa to leave the country for our trip to Italy since the practicals have started. So we have to write a petition to get the signature I guess. It's so dumb the way they make things. I do not understand why with the computer system the university has, can't they just systematize everything so we do not need to run around the university getting signatures from different departments.
Then the reason we are going on holidays during the practicals were the fault of the university at the first place. The time table stated our holidays are during 30th of Jan to 6th of Feb. Hence we booked the tour on this date, but when the exam schedule came out, exams ends on 21st and the dean said that practicals resumes 1 week after exams. So, how can you blame us for doing this, and we are not supposed to not go to the tour as we have already paid the sum right?
Sometimes, the way things are, can make me wonder how do others really think. But this is reality, so instead of fretting over it, why not just accept the fact and think of a solution?
