Yesterday, I celebrated my housemate's birthday which is today. Since the house consist of only 4 people, me and the other housemates decided to invite some friends over to make the celebration merrier.
As some of them had came to my place before, we thought it would not be a problem for them to find their way over here. However, they ended up losing their way and was lost on the way here. So I had to go out with my housemate to bring them over.
Anyway, this morning when I was on my way to university I was partially cursing as the roads were filled with water again while it only snowed the night before. That made the roads not only very wet but also very slippery.
This is why I hate the weather over here, it just like to change abruptly without any notice. For example, when i went for classes this morning, the weather was mildly cool and there weren't much of a wind blowing but on the way back from classes, the temperature turned negative and the wind was blowing so strong that the bag on my shoulder was blown off and onto my forearm.

Merry Christmas 09'
It's Christmas today and I am having a white Christmas, just like the one I used to hear in the songs. It is quite a scene to look at if the snow weren't all melting making the roads filled with brown coloured puddles of water.
I had physiology class today, and since the other teacher is currently on holiday so our teacher is in charge of all the students which resulted other groups joining classes with my group.
All of us were kind of anxious as our teacher will get annoyed when people don't answer her questions and the group that will be joining classes with us is quite well known for not studying a lot. Hence, we were afraid that she might be in a bad temper.
Though everything turned out alright. Maybe it was Santa's gift to my group.
So after classes me and housemates decided on the day before that we will be having some kind of dinner celebration in conjuction with Christmas so we started to cook from around 5 and we only finished cooking everything at 7.30pm.(a little note, I cooked the prawns)
Dinner was scrumptious and satisfying.(there is an after photo) It ended with me not feeling like studying for tomorrow's final exam in Nursing Surgery though I haven't really been preparing for classes. (
So lets keep our fingers crossed and hope everything will turn out well. As I am writing this, I am sticking from all the cooking, tired, and haven't started studying and have no intentions of doing so. Please grant my Christmas wish which is passing tomorrow's exam Santa! Thanks in advance.

Scary Town
Today when I was in class, me and my groupmates somehow ended up discussing about the security issue in our town here. We had a meeting with the local police which is held yearly not long ago. The aim of the meeting was for the police to inform us that they will be there to help us.
Though a few days after the meeting some juniors were badly beaten up by the local people here and they were seriously injured and were send to the hospital. Rumors have it saying that one of them ended up in the opthamology department after some of the glasses from his/her spectacles ended up in the eye. Some rumors even say that he/she is currently blind.
Furthermore, i heard that one of my friend who were walking in a group just opposite of the university were surrounded by an amount of 30 people and almost got beaten up as well. Though one of them's quick thinking of running to the university to ask for help from the security guards made it possible to get through the surround without being badly injured. From what I heard, only one of them had a light injury on the head.
Though I can't be certain how much information written above is true as normally when rumors are spread they might get worse after being spread. I hope my parents won't be alarmed by this and do not over react on the situation. There are always bad people and good ones in every town. So please do not worry too much.
While on the way back home today, outside my apartment, there were a bunch of kids with their parents playing with the snow and riding on some small sledge off a small hill. The sound of their laughter rang in the air and made me smile a little while thinking of the nice time I used to have as a small kid. Though as we grow, we gain more freedom and start to notice and understand about more things that is going on around us. Though we also start to gain more responsibilities in exchange for the freedom.
That's life I guess. Ain't nothing is free my friend!

Helping is Caring
I do not believe that I am doing such a thing. I have never ever done anything like this before. Since young I have always had my parents(mostly mum), maid or sister to do this for me. Guess what it is. It is something that is always done during Christmas and other occasions similar to it. It is also an action that is not very tough to do.
The action is called gift wrapping. I went to buy some gifts for the upcoming Christmas festival for my friends.(Sorry mum and dad, I spent quite an amount of money on the presents)While I was walking home from the departmental store, I was thinking if I was going to wrap up the present before giving it to them. I ended up doing so.
Anyway, that is not the main topic of the post today, today i would like to say about some feelings I felt.
Today and a few days back, I helped some people and what I did was really nothing. But when they said thank you to me and gave me a smile, I felt something warm stirring inside me. It felt very nice. I think that this is why a lot of people say that helping others is a very happy thing.
I do agree with that statement, but maybe with a little change. Helping others when money is not involved is a very happy thing.(money isn't really a factor if you are very very extremely rich or the money involved is of an insignificant amount)
I feel that the receiver of the help is also very happy as when I receive help from others I would also feel glad for their help.

Frustrated
Today is the rest day-Sunday, I am very happy because i can sleep in longer than usual. In fact I actually slept in till 12pm ! Now that i have fast internet speed I have been using it a lot. Since i got it on last Thursday night, I have been downloading and updating all kinds of software.
But due to my computer's problem, I can't seem to use PPS correctly, most movies don't want to play when i click them. I think this is mainly because I lost my chinese language input when I reformat my computer the last time.
This cause me some frustration but at the same time I am also glad that I am unable to watch all those movies I want to as final exams are coming soon(next month) and i actually still have a lot of movies and series in my hard disc that I haven't finish watching.
Today I am looking for pictures for my project that will allow me exemption for my physiology exam but no matter in what way did I reconstruct the words, I still couldn't find pictures that my professor wants. I hope she will be alright with the photos that i managed to fish out from the haystack which is known as Google.
Oh, by the way, the temperature here has went up. I am kind of glad of that as it is now more barable to go out. The temperature now is about -5 to -10 which I think is kind of alright. Though it has begin to snow more and thus make it harder to walk in the thick pile of snow.

Cold weather, internet and new place
Sorry for not posting a new post for such a long time. The fact is that I was a little busy as i was moving into a new place(apartment) from my old living area(bungalow) and secondly i was waiting for my internet access to be set up before posting new blogs hence the long wait.
Currently winter has started in Russia, Kursk with the coldest on Wednesday morning with a temperature of -28 degree Celcius. Here are some pictures of my new apartment and since I am in a rush to get to school I guess i will update more in a bit.
