I have not been updating my blog for quite a few days and have not been on the net for quite sometime as well. This is because I and my house mates have decided to change our internet provider and we had a miscommunication with the provider so they only provided us with one line when we needed three. So I am still here waiting for them to come and do the cabling in hope of reconnecting with the world.
On Monday, the road was really slippery as the temperature rose to a little above zero. The roads were all covered with only a thin layer of water over the thick layer of ice making it unbelievably slippery. When i reached the hospital for my practicals, everyone was chatting about how each of them almost fell down on the way to practicals.
Though after sometime, the temperature rose and it snowed heavily. Hence, while going back home after the practicals the roads were very nice to walk on. It was like walking on the sandy beaches as the snow was mixed with the sand that was sprinkled all over the ice earlier to help people get better grips while walking.
This week, I find myself looking forward to the practicals as the nurses have started to trust our skills and is beginning to give us more jobs that are more related with medical procedures. First, they allowed us to see the jabs that they were giving patients, and now, today I gave my first injection to a patient(intramuscular injection). Though, I think it wasn't done very well as normally an intramuscular injection shouldn't bleed too much but after the injection, the patient's area of injection was bleeding more than normal. When the nurse asked her if it was painful she said no. But, I thought I saw her wiping her tears of her eyes. I do not what to think about it. Let's hope that it wasn't too painful for her and what I did didn't give her any trauma. Cheers to the beginning of my medical life.
